You can’t treat what you can’t see. A thorough assessment will determine what the source of the pain is as well as its cause. For example, a torn rotator cuff with poor neuromuscular control due to an irritable c-spine putting pressure on the brachial plexus and reduced thoracic mobility compromising scapulo-thoracic coupling. Poor stress management that is driving the thoracic mobility issue. Treatment may be simple, or could involve a team approach to leverage the scope of our team’s ability as well as a broader network of specialists, sport med physicians, podiatrists etc.

We help peformance-minded clients reach new heights
Manual therapists who specialize in helping clients make GAINS? Absolutely! Do you want to improve overall mobility? Press overhead? Squat deeper? Hit a PR? Improve your strict pull-up? Again, one can’t treat what one can’ see. A detailed assessment will help your client better understand their body – what they can do to move towards their goal; or in some cases when a goal should be re-framed due to their unique anatomy such as a bony limitation to hip movement that simply won’t change. We train to be literate in a wide range of functional movements and offer the ability to understand the root cause of issues that are driving form flaws, or weak links that are holding you back from fully leveraging your strength.

What other coaches say about us...
What Travis has created at Lift is exactly what all Strength & Conditioning and Sports Rehab communities should be striving for - a truly integrated training and re-training program to improve athletic performance and overcome injuries. When personal trainers, S&C coaches, and therapists don’t speak the same language, the result is always frustration for everyone involved - especially the client - and progress is always slower than it could be. But when each workout and treatment are designed with a common goal in mind, changes happen so much faster, last longer, and leave everyone way more satisfied and inspired to achieve more. Few and far between are places like Lift where two worlds meet and the magic happens!

As an avid badminton player and personal trainer, helping clients to increase their mobility and strength are my priorities. Since I am certified in the FMS (Functional Movement System), one of the reasons I chose Lift to help my clients is because they are using the SFMA. By providing them with my screen reports, and Lift’s further assessments, Lift can help my clients overcome their pain and movement limitations by finding the source of their problems. Also, Lift has taken an integrated approach in treating injuries. Members of their collaborative team can assess my clients’ profile so that three types of treatment (physiotherapy, chiropractic, and massage) can be used, if necessary. Through active rehabilitation provided to the clients and on-going communication between the Lift team and myself, our clients can recover faster, train better, and achieve their goals sooner.

I am a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. I first met Travis Dodds at Eastside Fitness a few years ago. He was working with young athletes including gymnasts, runners and volleyball players. I was impressed with his care and attention to detail. Since then, I have been referring my personal training clients to Travis and his team for assessments, injury treatment and rehab. The Lift team is especially unique because their clinicians (physio, chiro and massage) work closely together ensuring that each client is receiving specific care. This multi-disciplinary approach is very effective from a client care perspective. My clients have given glowing reports about the team, they feel well taken care of and confident that they are on the path to recovery. I can also attest to their approach personally as I am currently seeing Travis and Dan for a soft tissue injury and the level of care is outstanding.

I work as a coach at Enhanced Performance and feel more than confident to refer our gym members and my own clients to the team at LiftClinic. What makes them unique in the world of clinical wellness, are two things:
1. Their strong adherence to total body assessments. Their use of the SFMA and FMS systems and communication of the results with the EP coaches, means that we all have a common dialogue and understanding of that client. These continued assessments provide us with an up to date baseline of that member's movement at any one time. This is efficient healthcare at it's best!
2. Their kindness and attention to detail. It can often be difficult to encourage female clients to feel comfortable enough seeing a male practitioner. Travis and his team are the best entry point for any woman who is feeling a little nervous in seeing a male practitioner. They are so kind, respectful and attentive to your goals, making you feel important in every session.
